Mark is also a half screen clearer but needs a bit more effort to position everyone into his whip perfectly, as his whip is incredibly bugged right now.(the swords on john are pretty bugged too, just like most of the other skills in this game - but they are in a better shape) On boss though - it's too often that boss attacks through block and the stun on boss is useless. To top it off he is nearly fully risk free, so even with crap RNG he will not falter during stage clear. John has an eventually 1 hit kill nearly half screen attack with extremely small cooldown. Kevin is best overall tho aka stage + boss. If you mean stage clear - kevin is good, but john, mark and maybe even the hammer guy are faster. Kevin is faster to fill rage bar with tho, so if you don't start boss with rage bard - he will most likely be more useful. She is also more safer to kill boss with(although this only matters if you ignore health/dodge upgrades, otherwise kevin can survive long enough to burst boss down)
and her primary attack runes have more damage potential, which ends up in huge DPS. If it's pure boss clear speed - then kevin loses to the archer girl end game due to near 100% crit chance on her and your crit damage is usually over 300% by then.
